Security Monitoring
In co-operation with many of the country's leading security integrators, FBI have designed and installed fibre based video transmission systems for multimode, singlemode, ATM and IP based networks. Our innovative systems are based on quality components, superior installation service and are cost sensitive.
FBI takes full responsibility for the design of the network, specification, supply of the relevant fibre, CCTV transmission equipment, patch panels etc. and for their successful and professional installation. Once installed it is a simple procedure to connect the camera and switch matrix to the fibre optic transmitter and receiver units with co-axial cables.
Equipment used in the installations is either video point-to-point, video with data, or multiplexed video and data signals over one fibre, ATM based backbone with MPEG2 and MPEG4 encoders and decoders. We also support a full range of IP encoders and decoders that incorporate Video switching and digital recording.
Industrial Control
As automation becomes increasingly common, the demands become greater on effective communication between the units and systems used to control processes and those that actually carry out production and measurement.
Data communication is the backbone that assures improved efficiency and competitiveness, regardless of whether the application is manufacturing or process control.
Interfaces for industry are typically RS422, RS485, RS232 and Industrial Ethernet.
We also support the full range of PROFIBUS and MOBUS optical to electrical converters.
Intelligent Traffic Systems
FBI is able to supply and design systems around all forms of electro optic equipment. From simple RS232 modems, to local area networking bridges and routers, or open transport based multiplexers that can transmit data and audio at high speeds.
Working in point-to-point, single ring or dual counter rotating ring configurations, FBI can provide ATM multiplexers that will transmit Ethernet, RS232, 422, 485, audio and a host of other protocols of different formats, across two or four fibres. ATM is suitable for security, LAN/WAN and process control applications where self healing and system survivability are of paramount importance.
Aerial Installations
In addition to total turnkey solutions we also offer the supply and installation of various types of aerial cable. We specialize in the splicing of long span and OPGW cables on Power line routes. We supply Dome joints, joint enclosures, wall mount enclosures, slack boxes and cabinets.
Fibre to the Premises
FBI is the sole importer of the Aurora Trident7 Optics product range. We have successfully deployed our FTTP systems to more than 1600 customers on various residential Estates including one of the largest installed bases of triple play Optical Network Terminals in South Africa. These sites include Blair Atholl Golfing Estate, Heidelberg Kloof Estate, Heritage Hill Lifestyle Village, Jackal Creek Golfing Estate, Southdowns Country Estate, Waterfall Equestrian Estate and Xanadu Ecopark.
Our systems truly deliver the most complete optical access solution for triple play services on the market. IP, RF video including integrated RF return, as well as high speed data and carrier class voice can all be transported across a single fibre to the customer's premises.
These systems can all be managed remotely which means in 90% of cases the problem can be rectified remotely resulting in less downtime.
